California Bar Pitches Record Expungement Plan, Clarifies Duties

The State Bar of California is asking the state Supreme Court to approve a plan that would allow for certain attorney discipline records to be expunged after eight years.

The State Bar’s Board of Trustees approved the plan at its Thursday meeting, the agency said in a statement Friday. The plan would allow for the automatic expungement of “nondisbarment attorney discipline records” after eight years of no further discipline.
