Wedding Dress Makers Say CloudFlare Enables Infringement

Web hosting and security company Cloudflare Inc. allegedly enables foreign counterfeiters to infringe over 5,000 copyrights owned by wedding dressmakers Allure Bridal and Justin Alexander Inc., a Jan. 6 complaint says.

CloudFlare has continued to allow counterfeit dress sellers to use its services despite receiving “thousands of notifications” of infringement, according to the complaint.

The dressmakers say they invest hundreds of thousands of dollars on photo shoots in exotic locations such as the French Riviera, Santorini, and the Canary Islands to promote their dresses. They say they “have been victimized by a massive and unrelenting copyright infringement and counterfeiting scheme”...
