Two Groups Vie to Create Digital Streaming Royalties System (1)

The U.S. Copyright Office will have to choose one of two competing proposals to create a new system for distributing billions of dollars in online music streaming revenue.

One of the two submitted plans will become the blueprint for the nonprofit set up to administer a blanket license for digital streamers such as Spotify, collect music streaming data and royalty payments, and distribute them to copyright holders under the Music Modernization Act.
