TikTok Rival Triller Avoids Copyright Infringement Suit, For Now

Video-sharing app and TikTok competitor Triller Inc. won a round in a copyright infringement case brought by Wixen Music Publishing Inc., when a California federal judge said Wixen failed to specify the publication date of the songs allegedly being infringed.

Wixen, which accuses Triller of offering songs from Tom Petty, Madonna, Rage Against the Machine, and others in its music library without a license, didn’t include in its complaint enough information about the hundreds of songs at issue, Judge James V.
