Taser Beats Police Recording System Patent Infringement Claims

Taser International Inc. beat claims that it infringed a patent covering a system that uses multiple devices to record law enforcement officers, after a Wednesday ruling of the Federal Circuit.

The Federal Circuit agreed with a Kansas federal court that Taser didn’t infringe because its products don’t include the patent’s capability of broadcasting “correlation data,” such as unique serial numbers and time stamps, to “link together or otherwise associate record data.”
