The Supreme Court won’t hear a photographer’s bid to revive his lawsuit alleging Nike Inc. ripped off his 1984 Michael Jordan photograph to create its iconic “Jumpman” logo.

The court, in its March 25 denial to take the case, declined the chance to clarify the boundaries for when elements of a photo warrant copyright protection, or to set the bar for surviving a motion to dismiss in a photo copyright infringement case.
