Skechers Fights Nike Design Patents With PTAB Challenges

Skechers took Nike’s sneaker design patent infringement charges to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board April 11 and 12 (Skechers U.S.A., Inc. v. Nike, Inc., P.T.A.B., IPR2016-00870, 4/11/16).

The case presents the highest profile design patent challenge to the board since the America Invents Act of 2011 created the post-grant opposition option.
