Universal City Studios LLC’s “Save the Dinos” merchandise and Jurassic World promotions violated conditions of a licensing agreement, a multimillion dollar trademark infringement lawsuit alleged.
Plaintiff Frederick Zaccheo said the studio and Amblin Entertainment Inc. broke a 2017 agreement allowing use of his trademark to promote their 2018 movie “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.” The deal barred clothing sales and use apart from Jurassic World branding, the Oct. 30 complaint said. Zacchero’s company, The Dinosaur Project, sells Save the Dinos merchandise and donates a share of the proceeds to organizations that protect endangered species.
