Satanic Temple Loses Cybersquatting Lawsuit Over Facebook Page

The Satanic Temple failed to convince a federal judge in Washington that it should be allowed to pursue federal cybersquatting claims against a group of individuals who wiped the church’s local Facebook pages and posted content criticizing the organization.

Judge Richard A. Jones dismissed the temple’s lawsuit on Feb. 26, deciding as a matter of first impression that “post-domain paths” or “vanity URLs” aren’t considered “domain names” under the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act.
