Rockwell Told to Settle Trademark Case in ‘Difficult Times’

Rockwell Automation Inc. and a gray-market seller were ordered to settle their nearly five-year-long trademark dispute by a New Jersey federal magistrate judge who was “convinced that the parties’ resources, especially in these difficult times, can be put to better use.”

The litigation has “already consumed substantial resources,” and the parties will “necessarily spend additional vast transaction costs” if the case continues, Magistrate Judge Joel Schneider of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey said Wednesday.

The order requires gray-market seller Radwell International Inc. to “promptly” send Rockwell a settlement offer.
