Richemont ‘Red Gold’ Watches Allegedly Infringe Trademark (1)

Richemont‘s luxury watch brands like Montblanc and Baume & Mercier infringe a trademark by using the phrase “Red Gold” in marketing, a Feb. 8 complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleges.

Solid 21 Inc. owns the registered trademark “Red Gold” for use on its luxury watches. Solid 21 brought federal, state, and common law trademark claims against Swiss luxury goods company Richemont for using “Red Gold” in connection with watch brands Montblanc, Baume & Mercier, IWC Schaffhausen, and Officine Panerai.
