Remote Eye Testing Patent Gets Claims Axed at PTAB (2)

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board has axed claims in a remote eye testing system patent.

20/20 Vision Center initially challenged all 20 claims in DigitalOptometrics’ U.S. Patent No. 9,980,644. DigitalOptometrics disclaimed the first 11 claims of its patent. The remainder was left in the challenge, and 20/20 Vision Center succeeded in convincing the PTAB they were invalid.

The patent involves a remote eye testing system that doesn’t call for a doctor to be on-site during an eye examination. Among the arguments 20/20 Vision Center raised against claims in the patent were that they were obvious or anticipated...
