Patent Law Draft ‘Isn’t Perfect,’ Will be Honed, Tillis Says (1)

A draft proposal to rewrite patent eligibility law “isn’t perfect” but is a bid to satisfy a wide range of industries, including technology, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, a leading lawmaker said at a June 4 hearing.

“We want to make this bill better and a product that represents a broad consensus,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Intellectual Property Subcommittee said at the June 4 hearing.

Tillis told reporters after the hearing that it may be weeks or months before he introduces a bill.
