Packet Intelligence’s $5.75 Million Verdict Upheld (Corrected)

A $5.75 million infringement verdict for Packet Intelligence LLC on patents concerning the transmission of information packets over a network will remain intact.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas May 31 rejected NetScout Systems Inc.'s argument that a reasonable jury couldn’t have found infringement if PI’s expert had testified on the “proper interpretation” of the patents.

PI owns U.S. Patent Nos. 6,665,725; 6,839,751; and 6,954,789; related to monitoring and classifying information transmitted over a network.
