No Infringement of Medical Needle Safety Patent, Fed. Cir. Says

The Federal Circuit affirmed Thursday that a patent covering a safety structure built into medical needles wasn’t infringed by a device that doesn’t have the same “groove” for housing the needle.

Repro-Med Systems Inc.'s device also didn’t infringe by including elements equivalent to the “groove,” the court said.

EMED Technologies Corp. accused Repro-Med Systems Inc. of infringing U.S. Patent No. 8,961,476.
