NBA’s Terry Rozier Beats Suit Over Use of ‘Scream’ Mask

NBA player Terry Rozier won dismissal of trademark and copyright claims over his “Scary Terry” line of t-shirts and sweatshirts bearing a cartoon image of him wearing the mask from the movie “Scream.”

Plaintiff Easter Unlimited Inc.'s copyright claims fail under the fair use doctrine because of the “transformative nature” of the use, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York said Monday.
