Magistrate Tapped For District Judge Seat In Busy Patent Venue

Jacqueline Corley, a magistrate judge in the Northern District of California, has been nominated for a district judge seat on the court, which is among the busiest U.S. patent venues.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California is home to Silicon Valley and many technology companies. Last year, the district fielded around 240 new patent suits, the fifth-most of any judicial district, according to Bloomberg Law data.
