Liquidia Beats UTC Bid to Block Launch of Lung Drug Yutrepia

Liquidia Corp. defeated United Therapeutics Corp.’s emergency bid to block the launch of its lung-disease drug Yutrepia, as a federal judge questioned the validity of UTC’s asserted patent and said patients would benefit from the new treatment.

Judge Thomas D. Schroeder denied UTC’s request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, finding a “substantial question” about the validity of US Patent No. 11,357,782 in an opinion issued May 30 in the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
