Inventor Organization Wades Into Big Tech Row With Patent Office

A collection of self-described small business inventors is trying to step into a lawsuit by Alphabet Inc.'s Google and Apple Inc. against the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, arguing the agency should “promulgate lawful regulations” for denying validity trials.

US Inventor, 360 Heros Inc., and Clearplay Inc. were among the groups asking to intervene in Big Tech’s effort to undo the patent office’s NHK-Fintiv Rule, in a motion filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
