Intel’s Texas Patent Trial Delayed as Winter Storm Worsened

The opening of a jury trial in a patent lawsuit between Intel Corp. and VLSI Technology LLC was postponed because of a winter storm that wreaked havoc across much of Texas.

The in-person trial was set to begin Tuesday at the federal courthouse in Waco. Judge Alan Albright in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas Feb. 14 ordered the trial pushed to Feb. 22, due to “worsening winter weather conditions” in the area.

Jury selection will begin the morning of Feb. 22, and the trial will immediately follow.
