Instagram Terms of Use Doom Photographer’s Copyright Claim

A professional photographer’s copyright claim against Mashable was dismissed by a Manhattan federal court that found Instagram’s Terms of Use allowed it to grant the site a sublicense to the photo.

Because Stephanie Sinclair’s Instagram account was public, Mashable could embed the photo from her account to its site without her permission, the court ruled Monday.
