Infowars Settles Copyright Claims with Artist Behind ‘Pepe’ Meme

Infowars LLC has settled a copyright infringement lawsuit involving the use of Pepe the Frog on a Make America Great Again poster alongside political figures including President Donald Trump.

Infowars and Free Speech Systems LLC, which operate under right-wing radio host Alex Jones, agreed to pay $15,000 to Matt Furie, the artist that created Pepe the Frog, and not sell the poster at the center of the dispute.

The settlement effectively stops the case from going to trial in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where a jury would’ve determined whether Pepe’s inclusion in the poster...
