‘Fortnite’ Maker Sues Young Gamer for Hacks Touted on YouTube

A young “Fortnite” player who uses and sells software to hack the game, and posts videos of his exploits on YouTube, violates Epic Games Inc.'s copyrights, a June 18 complaint says.

The hacks illegally alter the game’s code and circumvent its technological protection measures, Epic Games’s complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina alleges.

According to Epic, a minor who goes by “CBV” on YouTube, posts videos of himself using specialized software to cheat at the popular battle-royale game.
