Federal Circuit Sends Back PTAB Rejection of Hearing Aid Patent

The Federal Circuit on Tuesday remanded a Patent Trial and Appeal Board decision that rejected a hearing aid patent based on a combination of earlier patents that allegedly preceded the invention.

The PTAB didn’t explain why a person of ordinary skill in the art would be motivated to combine the prior art to come up with Anova Hearing Labs Inc.'s patented hearing aids, the court said.
