Ex-GlaxoSmithKline Scientist Can’t Escape Trade Secrets Trial

A former GlaxoSmithKline scientist failed to demonstrate prosecutorial misconduct in her bid to escape trial for her role in a conspiracy to steal trade secrets, a federal district court said.

Lucy Xi argued she was indicted to coerce testimony against four co-defendants. But an FBI agent’s comments questioning Xi’s level of intent in the scheme and suggesting she’d be a great witness failed to undercut two grand jury indictments, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled.
