Ed Sheeran Copyright Case Paused for Led Zeppelin Ruling (1)

Claims that Ed Sheeran’s hit “Thinking Out Loud” copies elements of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” are on hold in New York until a federal appeals court in California decides a copyright infringement case involving Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.”

The Sheeran case was scheduled to go to a jury trial in September. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York will reset the case schedule 10 days after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issues its en banc decision in the Led Zeppelin case, it said July 2.
