Copyright Office Issues Proposed Rules for Small Claims Board

Procedures for how claims before a new copyright tribunal will be handled have been proposed by the U.S. Copyright Office.

The proposed rule would establish how active proceedings before the Copyright Claims Board will be handled, including rules about evidence-related topics such as written testimony, hearings, and discovery. The proposal also covers rules for post-determination review, smaller claims, and the conduct of parties, according to a notice of proposed rulemaking published Wednesday in the Federal Register.
