A nonprofit group lost its bid for administrative review of two Compass Pathfinder Ltd. patents related to the production of psilocybin, the active ingredient in “magic mushrooms.”
The Patent Trial and Appeal Board said Freedom to Operate Inc. hadn’t sufficiently established that any of the challenged patent claims are invalid. Compass’ patents, issued in March 2021, relate to large-scale production of psilocybin for use in medicine.
