Cisco’s Patent Loss May Reach $3.25 Billion, Centripetal Says

Cisco may end up paying between $2.66 billion and $3.25 billion as a result of a federal judge’s opinion that it copied a Virginia company’s inventions for cybersecurity features, patent owner Centripetal Networks said, calling it “the largest award of any U.S. patent case to date.”

  • District Judge Henry Morgan on Monday ruled that Cisco infringed four of five Centripetal patents for a network protection system
