Case: Copyrights/Summary Judgment & Attorneys’ Fees (9th Cir.)

The Ninth Circuit affirmed the decision of a federal district court in California granting a composer, PeerMusic Ltd, UMG Recordings Inc., Warner Records Inc., and Polygram Publishing Inc. summary judgment and denying them attorneys’ fees in Johannsongs-Publishing Ltd.'s copyright infringement action. The publisher alleges that “You Raise Me Up” infringes on its copyright for the 1977 Icelandic song Söknuður.
