Canadian Firm Sells Vapes With Unapproved Safety Marks, UL Says

A Canada-based online vape store and associated distribution company are marketing vaporizing products that misrepresent UL LLC’s safety certifications, a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday in Illinois alleges.

UL told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that its UL-in-a-circle mark is well-known to the public and regulatory bodies, and it is recognized as reflecting that a product has been tested, inspected, and certified as safe.

Arizer and Greenlane Holdings, however, have been using the UL-in-a-circle mark on their vape products sold and distributed throughout the U.S. without permission, UL claims.
