Bristol-Myers Asks Supreme Court to Save $1.2 Billion Patent Win

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.’s Juno Therapeutics is asking the Supreme Court to review a decision reversing its $1.2 billion patent infringement win against Gilead Sciences Inc. unit Kite Pharma over a cancer drug, arguing the appeals court’s ruling threatens research.

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in August invalidated a patent belonging to the Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research because it didn’t meet a requirement that inventors clearly describe their invention.
