Ariana Grande Sues Forever 21 for Allegedly Using Likeness

Forever 21 misappropriated Ariana Grande’s likeness by using a look-alike model in its advertising, the pop star said in a complaint in the Central District of California.

The clothing store published “at least 30 unauthorized images and videos” using Grande’s name, likeness, image, and music to “create the false perception of her endorsement,” the complaint says.

Grande says she declined to endorse Forever 21 “due to Forever 21’s unwillingness to pay the fair market value for a celebrity of Ms. Grande’s stature.” According to the complaint, “the market value for even a single Instagram post by Ms. Grande is well ...
