Timothy Gallwey, the author of “The Inner Game of Tennis” and other “Inner Game” psychology books, sued Adidas AG in Los Angeles federal court for allegedly infringing his trademarks by using the phrase “Inner Game” to sell soccer cleats.
Gallwey’s “Inner Game of Tennis” was published in 1974 and has sold over two million copies. Since then, Gallwey has written other “Inner Game” books and taught his methods to companies including Apple, AT&T, and Coca-Cola, according to the complaint. The Wednesday complaint says Gallwey’s teachings have been also praised by sports figures including Tom Brady, Pete Carroll, and Steve Kerr. ...
