Adidas Hit With Patent Lawsuit Over Soccer Shoe Technology

Adidas America Inc. is facing patent infringement claims by East Texas Boot Co. LLC in federal court in Oregon over its sale of soccer shoes that provide a more efficient transfer of the “ball strike energy.”

East Texas alleges Adidas is infringing on its patents for a soccer shoe designed with a carbon or graphite fiber outsole and a “vertical component” that work together to more efficiently transfer energy to the ball.
