U.S. Imposes Duties on Glass Containers From China for Dumping

Commerce Dept has made preliminary determination that exporters from China have dumped certain glass containers and as a result, the U.S. will collect cash deposits from importers of the product, according to statement.

  • Imports of the glass containers from China were valued at $370.8m in 2018; deposits will be collected according to dumping margins ranging from 7.6% to 255.7%
  • Petitioner is American Glass Packaging Coalition
  • Commerce to announce final determination on or about Sept. 12
