Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturer Loses Challenge to U.S. Duties

Turkish manufacturer Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is stuck with 6.64% anti-subsidy duties on its circular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes, the U.S. Court of International Trade affirmed Sept. 20.

These steel pipes and tubes are used to carry low-pressure liquids and gases in plumbing and heating systems, air conditioning units, automatic sprinklers, and the like. In a periodic duty review covering imports that entered the U.S. in 2015, the Commerce Department hit most Turkish producers and exporters with a countervailing duty rate of 6.64%.
