Trump to Sign Finalized U.S.-Japan Trade Deal Soon: Lighthizer

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer says he expects President Donald Trump to sign the U.S.-Japan trade agreement’s implementing proclamation as early as next week.

  • “U.S. farmers and ranchers will have significantly improved access to Japan’s market, and America’s leadership in the growing digital economy will continue to flourish to the benefit of all our workers,” says Lighthizer
  • NOTE: The U.S.-Japan Trade Agreement and the U.S.-Japan Digital Trade Agreement will go into effect on January 1, 2020, according to USTR in a statement
