Hyundai Contests U.S. Duties on Korean Corrosion-Resistant Steel

Hyundai Steel Co. is challenging the U.S. duty rate on some entries of its corrosion-resistant steel products from South Korea, arguing to a federal court the Commerce Department improperly attributed certain government subsidies to the company.

The U.S. maintains countervailing duties on Korean corrosion-resistant steel products, which are used in the production of automobiles, appliances, and agricultural and industrial equipment. These duties are a frequent source of trade litigation.
