BUDGET BRIEFING: Trade, Pension Bills Could Ride Funding Package

Year-end legislation to fund the government could also serve as a legislative vehicle for other measures on trade and pensions, as long as those provisions don’t tank the must-pass appropriations package.

Lawmakers have discussed attaching a measure to approve the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade, Senate Appropriations Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) said earlier this week.
