Erie Insurance Questioned on Bid to Keep Virus Claims Suits Apart

Erie Insurance Group ran into federal judges’ skepticism of its argument that business policyholders’ lawsuits over pandemic-related claims denial are filed in too many places for efficiently consolidating them into one venue.

The regional insurance carrier is fighting about 25 federal cases over its denial of business interruption coverage for business owners whose incomes suffered due to the Covid-19 pandemic and government response efforts.
