Triple Canopy Hit With EEOC Religious Discrimination Lawsuit

Triple Canopy, Inc., faces an EEOC religious discrimination and retaliation lawsuit after allegedly refusing to allow a male employee to have a beard as a religious accommodation, and failing to schedule him after he complained, according to a news release Thursday.

The company allegedly denied a nondenominational Christian employee’s request to wear a beard for religious reasons because he could not produce a substantiation of his beliefs or provide a statement from a certified religious leader, said the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Triple Canopy allegedly also subjected the employee to intolerable work conditions which resulted in his discharge.
