Walgreens Settles Medicaid Fraud Claims With Feds, Tennessee

Walgreen Co. reached a settlement with Tennessee and federal prosecutors in a False Claims Act suit alleging that the company falsified patient records in order to receive millions of dollars of Hepatitis C medication payments from Tennessee’s Medicaid program.

The parties filed a joint stipulation of dismissal with the US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee on Monday.

The parties didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Terms of the settlement weren’t made available.
