Unblock Obamacare Birth Control Opt Out Rules, 11 States Say

A group of 11 states is asking a federal appeals court to overturn an order blocking rules that allow employers with religious or moral objections to opt out of Obamacare’s birth control coverage requirements.

Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and West Virginia Feb. 22 told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit the exemptions are necessary for the government to fulfill its goal that women receive insurance coverage for essential health-care services without restricting religious liberty.
