UCLA Compounding Pharmacy Closes After Expired Meds Found

UCLA Health confirmed Sept. 21 that state regulators found expired drugs in the active stock of an off-campus compounding pharmacy, causing it to voluntarily go out of business.

An inspector for the California State Board of Pharmacy discovered expired powders and medication bottles at UCLA Medical Center Pharmaceutical Technology in 2016 during a routine visit. UCLA Health says it voluntarily closed the pharmacy after that.
