Sorin Settles Parents’ Suit Linking Girl’s Death to Heart Valve

Parents have settled with Sorin Group USA Inc. and affiliated companies in a suit alleging their daughter died from complications related to a heart valve, according to a filing with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

The appeals court had recently asked the Massachusetts top court to resolve a question of state law that would have determined whether their product liability claims against the medical device maker were preempted by federal law.
