SCOTUS Deadline in High-Stakes Allina Medicare Case Looms

The federal government is running out of time if it wants to ask the Supreme Court to review a lower court ruling that sided with Allina Health Services and other hospitals in their fight for hundreds of millions of dollars in Medicare reimbursement.

Time is short because the U.S. Supreme Court gave the government until April 27 to challenge a federal appeals court’s decision that the Department of Health and Human Services violated the Medicare Act when it changed its reimbursement formula without providing for a public notice-and-comment period.
