Paralyzed Patient Loses Suit Against Doctor Who Blamed Others

A paralyzed New Jersey man filed his medical malpractice action too late against a doctor who said he should “go after” his previous doctors because the statement didn’t halt the time period for bringing suit, a state appeals court said Monday.

A statute of limitations may be equitably tolled when a wrongdoer conceals his identity and prevents an injured person from timely filing a lawsuit, the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, said.
