Out-of-State Abortion Lawsuits Swatted Away by California

California will refuse to enforce out-of-state court orders against those who seek or assist those seeking abortions under legislation Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Friday, hours after the US Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade.

The legislation (A.B. 1666) declares that a law of another state authorizing a person to bring a civil action against a person or entity that receives or seeks, performs or induces, or aids or abets the performance of an abortion, or who attempts or intends to engage in those actions, is contrary to California’s public policy.
