Obamacare Change Paves Way for ‘Skinny’ Health Coverage (1)

Consumers could use federal Obamacare subsidies to buy “skinny” health insurance policies under a proposal announced Nov. 29 by a top Trump administration official.

Skinny plans provide short-term coverage at low cost and are meant to fill a temporary gap in insurance coverage. They typically don’t cover pre-existing conditions, which insurers are required to do when selling policies under the Affordable Care Act.
